Although, I must admit, sounds like so much crap and BS to me. Anyway, just read this in The Tonight. Thought it was highlarious. and stupid. and not true.

Lady Gaga's phone phobia  Comments
August 30, 2010

Lady Gaga is scared of mobile phones.

The ‘Telephone’ hitmaker is reportedly terrified of getting a brain tumour from using a portable device and now insists a member of her entourage holds her phone a short distance away from her whenever she has to make a call.

A source said: “There have been various reports suggesting mobile phone use can increase your risk of developing cancer and brain tumours and even though there’s no firm evidence, it really freaked her out.

“She’s now insisting that whenever she makes a call, one of her team keys the numbers into her phone, then holds it up to her face so when she speaks it isn’t too close to her head.

“She then listens to her calls on the speakerphone.”

According to the insider, the request is the latest in a series of bizarre demands from the eccentric singer.

She is also said to ask members of her security team to carry her to various events because she has only designated a certain amount of time each day to walking.

The source added: “Everyone around Gaga tries to tolerate her annoying and weird behaviour because they know it’s likely to be just another phase.” - Bang Showbiz

The Echoes needs YOU!

What do you do with someone who

a) doesn't want to celebrate his birthday and is feeling fairly glum about it

b) doesn't want a big ass celebration (well...duh)

c) would probably not freak out about a quiet dinner somewhere in the city....except we do eat out often and we've been to most places.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to dazzle me with suggestion for low-key but delicious restaurant options for his birthday.

But not boring. Sorta fun.

And in Cape Town, CBD.

And it'll be a week night.

No pressure.

Oh, and he's special to me...So I wouldn't want it to be 'bler' or 'blah' either.

hate all those whinging smug chicks that go on and on and on about their damn diet and eating plans. I am feeling a bit glum (much like the Cape Town weather), I needed a pick me up, yoga (in fact, any form of exercise) won't do and the only thing that would do is food. Glorious food. More importantly, freaking Cassis cakes, brioches and macarons!

But wait!! Before that....I made beef sausages, cheesy scrambled eggs, mushrooms, slow roasted baby tomotoes and toast.

And in case of an emergency (snack)! five different cheeses, three different meats and baquettes.

All of which are hugely *calorie laden but so TOTALLY BOSS!

*in case you're thinking that I'm being a total pig on my own, the resident male person is scoffing down at least 60% of the above-mentioned

FYI: If you didn't know, now you do - What is a Macaron? (and you probably suck for not knowing anyway...)

The Grinch

I'm sorry...I don't get it. After much soul searching and debate, I have decided that I actually don't give a flying one about the Athlone Cooling towers being demolished in 15 minutes. They're not a 'Cape Town institution' and they're certainly not an important significant landmark.

I remember it as being an eyesore and incredibly smelly.

So there. That's all I have to say - although I have to admit, I like things that go boom (but not in so far that it freaks out the furkids).

Dear Capetonians, please direct all hatemail to idontgiveadamn@echoes.com

Nike Big Butt Campaign - FTW

Kim Kardashian has one. J-Lo has one. I have one - and my Mama gave it to me.

And now Nike is celebrating it.

Props...A brave ad campaign that's a departure from the norm. Showcasing a healthy, toned and curvy body. I'm not built like a boy and no matter how much I exercise and watch my eating, I never will be lanky and thin. I can be slim, but I'll always be curvy...because that's how my body is designed.

Kudos to Nike for getting into my brain.

I might just go and buy an expensive pair of sneakers just because I know they have my butt  back.

Fierce stuff.

Latest Stylescoop column: The Morning After Survival Guide

The walk of shame – don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about… It’s when you wake up in a strange bed (or a stranger in your bed) and all you can think of doing is getting him or yourself the hell out of dodge...

happens! Girl meets boy, boy chats up girl and girl (fuelled by cocktails) finds boy hot and the rest – as they say – is your classic One Night Stand. However, the One Night Stand has evolved since the gloriously skanky and librated group love of the 60’s and 70’s, the crazy hotel lounge hook-up’s of the 80’s and the stark realisation that you might die if you don’t wear a condom in the 90’s. In fact, absolutely nobody was advocating any form of casual sex in the 90’s.

Warm and Fuzzies from a very cold Cape Town,

Echoes!
