On an early Saturday morning, I headed off to Lis Spa in Wynberg, Cape Town to experience the Neydharting Moor Body Wrap. Let me start off my saying this, do not be late. Seriously, do not be late. I left my flat in Sea Point an hour early, thinking I would still be at the spa in time for my 12pm appointment. Ha!
Instead, I was 30 minutes late after taking a train and walking 30 minutes (Google said it would be a 10 minute work. Tsk.).
Seriously. Set aside more than enough time for that trip, because you will have to hunt for the spa and you will need time in case you get lost. Rather be early than late.
Anyways, let’s talk about the Neydharting Moor Body Wrap.
The treatment was launched on 29 February 2012 at The Saxon Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg. Neydharting Moor products are formulated from a blend of anti-aging botanicals, herbs and vitamins taken directly from the Neydharting Moor in Austria.
And it has a delicious body range, which includes a mud bath, which we will be reviewing soon.
Moor is the only beauty line in the world that uses the peat and peat water from the famous Neydharting Moor – both of which contain over 1000 naturally-sourced botanicals, herbs and nutrients.
By combining these natural botanicals with scientifically advanced peptides Moor Body Care penetrates your blood stream and helps your own immunities to fight the area of concern.
How was it?
Delicious. There’s nothing quite like taking out an hour to lie on a bed, wrapped up in mud and plastic and just… be. It’s calming – something we all desperately need in these chaotic, fast-paced times. We’re juggling so many balls, that it’s strange to give yourself license to just sit and be for a while.
My practitioner explained everything about the process, including the fact that all the ingredients are natural, which means there is very little chance of you having an allergic reaction to their products. Lovely.
While I let the black mud sink into my skin, she gave me a head massage that beat all others. It was so good, I actually dozed off. After she woke me up gently, I took a quick shower, got dressed and drank some water. (Apparently, the treatment makes you quite thirsty).
Would I recommend it? Yes. This was my first wrap – and I sure hope there will be more to come.
